Applicants will be chosen using a variety of factors including
academic performance. Personal interviews may be required. Due
to the challenging nature of this trip
the instructors reserve the right to refuse admission any individual.
Admission is currently restricted to students in good standing within
the Hopkins community. Inquiries about applications from students or other
interested parties from outside of the Hopkins community should be directed to
ecuador@jhu.edu before the deadline.
Applications include 3 items:
- The 2-page application form (links at left)
- A printout or photocopy of your current JHU transcript
- The deposit of $300.00 (checks should be payable to "Johns Hopkins University").
Your application should be delivered to Dr. Eric Fortune, Ames 225
by 4:00pm on Friday, September 28, 2007.
CONSIDERATIONS:
- You must either have or obtain a valid US Passport
- Students with non-U.S. passports may attend, please contact us early
- We cannot guarantee provisions for specific dietary concerns
(e.g. Kosher, vegetarian)
- The trip may be subject to International concerns that are beyond our control
- Punctuality is essential on this trip
- Ability to follow instructions, get along with your peers
and mentors, and a positive attitude will make this course most enjoyable
for everyone. If any of these issues are a problem for you, please
do not enroll in this course - you will likely have a better experience
travelling on your own.
- Special provisions for handicap access are not available. Persons with disabilities are
encouraged to contact the instructors to determine if participation is possible.

- October 2: Announcement of class roster and final commitment
- October 12: Deadline for Full Payment and associated paperwork
